Spider Veins

Nearly everyone has some spider veins. They start as fine, red lines and progress to larger blue or purplish veins that can take over your legs. They can become unsightly or embarrassing. In some cases, they can be a sign of more significant underlying vein disease called CVI (Chronic Venous Insufficiency).

There is no need to suffer with spider veins. They can be easily treated with a simple technique called sclerotherapy that is performed in the office in 30 minutes or less. More than one session is often necessary, and the treatments are usually considered cosmetic by most insurance companies.

It is important to know that if you are also having symptoms such as leg aching, pain, heaviness or restless legs, you will need to be evaluated for underlying CVI before starting sclerotherapy. If you had treatments in the past that weren’t effective you may also have underlying CVI that needs to be treated before sclerotherapy will be effective.
